Fresh Ground: Worth the Wait
Tuesday, May 28, 2019
After a delay of several weeks due to poor weather conditions when it was originally scheduled, NACM North Central’s annual Fresh Ground Networking Breakfast was worth the wait. On May 10, 2019, commercial credit professionals gathered in Minnetonka, Minnesota, to hear from renowned speaker and psychologist Bruce Christopher. The event also featured the association’s annual business meeting and an educational roundtable workshop.
NACM North Central Board of Directors Chair Joy Mitchell, CCE, CICP, provided updates on association activities, including the development of a new strategic plan, membership growth, and new credit professional roundtables.
Attendees honored Scott Woitas, CBF, credit manager at Donaldson Co., who received the NACM North Central Credit Executive of the Year Award. NACM North Central President and COO Toni Nuernberg installed the 2019/20 Board, and new Board Chair Brett Wegner, commended Mitchell on her work as board chair for the past year.
Christopher entertained Fresh Ground participants with useful tips for becoming more emotionally intelligent, backed by hilarious anecdotes and video clips.
The event wrapped up with an interactive membership roundtable discussion, facilitated by Mike Thelen, CCE. Attendees exchanged ideas about staffing, new accounts, credit reviews, software, trends, credit cards, privacy and taxation, and communication between sales and credit.
Thank you to attendees, speakers and allied members for making this year’s Fresh Ground Networking Breakfast a success.
