NACM’s annual Credit Congress is the premier annual conference for commercial credit professionals. This year’s event is scheduled for June 10-13, 2018, in Phoenix. Why should you attend? Your fellow NACM North Central members have a few thoughts about that.

“Last year, I decided to do something that I had not done in over a decade – attend Credit Congress. As is customary, NACM showcased a diverse group of speakers on a multitude of relevant educational topics. Very quickly, I was reminded the value I gained personally and professionally as a new credit manager by attending congress five consecutive years in the early 2000s. If you are in a similar position, I highly encourage you to make the investment in yourself and your company by making the necessary provisions now to attend this year in Phoenix. ”–Chris Birdwell, Pioneer Worldwide

“It is a wonderful educational and networking experience that will not only grow you as a professional, it will become critical in your company’s current and future success in effectively managing one of their largest assets resulting in favorable balance sheet and profit & loss results. Win/win situation for yourself and your company.”–Jim Fischer, Ryerson

“What effect is the tariff war having on your business? How are your peers handling the changes? What ideas can they share that you can use to protect your company’s receivables? In three days, you will interact with 1,500 credit professionals. Your return on investment will be incredible!”–Mark Dulaney, McNelius Steel

“When I think of Credit Congress, three topics come to mind:

  • Education, networking and relationship building.
  • With more than 60 educational sessions, it is easy to find topics of interest.
  • The instructors and people you meet are amazing. Expect to come back from Credit Congress excited and motivated!”–Jeff Hawkins, Ferguson Waterworks

“I have attended more than a dozen national conferences over the last 20 years. It is difficult to quantify the benefits of attending this function as some are realized later in your work career. That said, the opportunity to network with peers locally, regionally and nationally, as well as the great educational sessions are the top benefits to attending NACM National. The opportunity to see new vendor offerings and gain roadmap points for recertification are nice additional benefits!”–Lori Nissen, Scherer Bros Lumber Co

“I have been fortunate to have attended 15-20 Credit Congresses. I have been in the credit world for a long time and am always inspired and motivated by everything that I take away from the educational sessions. Our world is changing so quickly, especially with regard to technology, so it’s important to keep up what is trending in the credit profession.

“The Keynote speakers are always top notch. You’ll listen and leave invigorated. The lunches on the expo hall are plentiful, and talking to the exhibitors is a great learning tool in itself and offers many resources to credit professionals. The closing banquet is a blast and a great way to end the exposition. ”–Kay Watson, CliftonLarsonAllen LLP

“Credit Congress is a great way to network and gather ideas relating to your same issues. I have personally found great resources and ideas that have helped my company with our day to day challenges – whether it be finding international collections agencies, automating credit/collections tasks, or bankruptcy issues – there is no shortage of experts around!”–Karrie Lynch, Merrill Corporation
